The Mag-Bind® Plant DNA DS 96 Kit is designed for difficult samples (DS) which are hard to lyse or contain high amounts of polysaccharides and polyphenols. The system uses a CTAB-based lysis buffer which does not require organic solvents. The proprietary binding system prevents inhibitors from binding to the magnetic beads. The wash buffer system further removes polysaccharides, phenolic compounds and enzyme inhibitors from plant tissue lysate. An optional rebinding step is included with the kit but most samples do not require the additional treatment.

E.Z.N.A.® Plasmid Midi Kit offers a novel and reliable method of isolating up to 200 µg of plasmid DNA in less than 60 minutes. This kit combines HiBind® membrane technology with the time-tested consistency of alkaline SDS lysis of bacterial cells to deliver high-quality plasmid DNA. The DNase/RNase-free HiBind® DNA midi columns operate by eliminating time consuming phenol-chloroform extractions and alcohol precipitations. Plasmid purification using the E.Z.N.A.® Plasmid Midi Kit follows a simple bind-wash-elute procedure thereby making it possible for multiple samples to be processed. Although yields vary according to plasmid copy number, <i>E.coli </i>strain, and conditions of growth, 50 ml of an overnight culture in LB medium will typically produce 200 µg of high-copy number plasmid DNA. When working with low-copy number plasmids the starting culture volume can be increased up to 100 ml. Utilising HiBind® silica plate technology, the need for phenol/chloroform extractions, CsCl gradient ultracentrifugation, and precipitation with isopropanol or LiCl are eliminated. Samples are lysed in a denaturing lysis buffer which inactivates RNases. Binding conditions are adjusted and the lysate is transferred to a 96-well HiBind® RNA Plate where the RNA is purified via three wash steps. High quality RNA is eluted in RNase-free water.
