VWR® Signature hotplate stirrers are designed for applications that require exceptional accuracy, stability and repeatability.

Microprocessor control regulates both heating and stirring functions. Speed is precisely controlled, and provides consistent stirring throughout the entire range. Ramping feature slowly increases speed to avoid splashing, improves magnetic coupling and provides excellent low speed control. It also includes an external probe option that gives ±1% temperature stability.

Stirring function, with continuous duty motor and magnet, maintains set speed even under changing load or viscosity. Spill resistant housing channels fluids away from internal components. Ceramic tops feature a chemically resistant, reflective white surface that is easy to clean. Durable aluminium tops will not crack or chip, and provide a more even heating surface.

Safety features include user defined plate temperature limits, ensuring unit will never exceed user's programmed limit, enabling control of sensitive flash points. Probe, stir and over-temperature protection ensure that if probe disengages from sample, the motor stops, or unit exceeds set temperature by 10 °C the heater will automatically shut off. Hot symbol warning light is illuminated when unit is heated above 40 °C and remains on until the unit cools below 40 °C, even when heater is turned off. In timed mode an audible alarm will sound when time reaches zero or when unit reaches set-point temperature.
